Pre-Sale Engineer

Location: US, East Coast
Status: Full-time, Hybrid: Home and Travel

The Sales Engineer must be highly technical and influential; capable of building relationships while effectively articulating technology and product positioning to a variety of audiences including C-Level Executives and advanced technical personnel. This individual will be an integral part of the sales effort and lend technical credibility. Candidate must be based in the US, preferably east of the Mississippi River


  • Work with sales executives throughout the sales cycle: opportunity identification, sales meetings, product demonstrations, POC’s, discovery meetings, etc.
  • Assess customer needs and environments, identify technical criteria / requirements and decision drivers
  • Provide expertise regarding architecture design, strategy andplanning
  • Help with solution training / partner engagement and enablement
  • Represent CyberMDX’s solution at industry or customer events


  • Ability to effectively present solutions via live presentations and remote web meetings
  • Capable of developing strong relationships with customers to find out what motivates them and convert that into better opportunities
  • Some software development and/or scripting experience (regex, python, bash, etc.), ability to work comfortably with the system command line interface
  • In-depth understanding of Linux/Windows
  • Working knowledge of routing principles and networking architecture, protocols and services
  • Must have excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills
  • 5+ years relevant experience selling within the cyber security space; ideally experience with SIEM and / or threat detection solutions
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot in logical fashion, experience with network data capture and analysis
  • Knowledge of security threats, solutions, security tools and network technologies
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable in a nimble environment
  • Ability to travel
  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
